Peter - I shared your misgivings although I have not been to the website. However I got the impression, from my own knowledge of the person, that the approach would be to challenge the sovereignty of the Crown. That fits in with the Te Pati Maori narrative.

I also causes me to wonder who the anonymous donor was who paid for the book to be delivered to schools. My antenna suggests it may be Te Pati Maori, John Tamihere or part of that hydra-like organisation.

I wonder if there is a donor who would fund McQueen's book. But will it get to its audience? Doubtful given the biases present in the education system.

Glad to see your grandson took a stand.

Surely our Minister of Education should over rule this propaganda, or conversely demand that an equal number of Ewen McQueen's book be delivered to schools.

At one time we had laws against sedition and fomenting rebellion against the established order was punishable by death.....

Nowadays, planning revolution in the ureweras can be downgraded to a mere misuse of a firearms charge....

And brainwashing children to become permanent anti-government activists is celebrated as morally virtuous....

When will this illness in our society and in our educational institutions be corrected?

My best teacher told me that if you are going to teach, you must know your subject. I think I can add , if you are going to be taught, know your teacher. The problem for young people is their quite reasonable expectations that they will be taught the truth and how can they possibly know what that is? Surely there must be a mechanism in our education system that can protect our students from such blatant nonsense?

I think the answer is to teach “scepticism” and “critical thinking”. The trouble is that’s has never been the purpose of the lower education system. It’s to breed conformity... it’s worse now higher learning institutions plus the MSM have enthusiastically adopted the same

It will be interesting to see how this recent publication compares with the "Comic" put out by the Ministry of Education back in 2018, when Chris Hipkins was the Minister and his mother was involved in its publication by the Ministry. Julian Batchelor has done a critique of that "Comic", which can be viewed at the following link: https://issuu.com/esisite/docs/treaty_comic_book_linsday_final

The TV item reported that a "pakeha couple" funded the distribution of the recent publication to schools and that they did not want to be identified!

Is that John Tamihere/The Maori Party putting up a smoke screen?

The Minister of Education needs to set in and stop this brain washing of our youth.

If you care to read "New Zealand's History Curriculum, Education or Indoctrination', you will realise this book is merely just an addition to the perverting of young minds by our left wing Marxist brigade masquerading as teachers. From Kindy to University, it is game, set and match to to the Lefties which will signal the end of democracy and equality in New Zealand.

Would our government allow a book written by a CCP member, on how to govern, to be distributed to all schools? Why isn’t there a law against such a practice?

The idea that the rangatira who signed the February 1840 Treaty did not agree to the suzerainty of Queen Victoria is soundly refuted by Clause the Third of the self same Treaty. If all Maori are granted the rights of subjects of Her Brittanic Majesty, would that not require that she first be established as the sole Sovereign of the territory....

Why Sir Hugh Kawharu’s 1989 quote is not absolutely front and centre is not mere prejudice. It is malicious falsification. If Smail’s booklet avoids this declaration of his, then we should immediately have the Minister of Education, with the PM’s declared support, ban this wee work. And so, to repeat:

“The Chiefs of the Confederation and all the Chiefs who have not joined that Confederation give absolutely to the Queen of England for ever the complete government over their land.”
